The price of the wool package includes a donation of 10 euros.
The wool package for the scarf designed by Brigitte's editorial team contains:
• Per lei from Lana Grossa (each 50 & 75g color 11 white and color 10 black and 50g each color 25 royal blue and color 16 cinnamon)
Composition: 100% new wool (Merino), ~ 60m / 50g,
• Classic merino wick yarn, GOTS certified
• Detailed, German-language knitting instructions
• Label to sew on
Needles are not included in the package.
According to the instructions, you need a size 8 knitting needle if you knit loosely and size 9 if you knit tightly, as well as a thick darning needle for sewing on the tassels.
To help Syrian children in need, BRIGITTE and Save the Children started the campaign “A scarf for life” in 2014 with our support. In recent years the campaign has been a complete success - to date, well over 1.7 million euros have been donated!
In 2019 alone, around 25,000 wool packages and over 4,000 ready-knitted scarves were sold, so that, including direct donations, a total of over 380,000 euros came together - the absolute record compared to previous years.
HOW DO WE HELP WITH A SCARF?
From each scarf, 10 euros are donated to Save the Children aid projects for children who have fled within Syria or to neighboring countries. This enabled them to set up educational institutions in Lebanon, for example, where children can safely learn for their future.
